Selamat Bercuti

Cuti sekolah datang lagi. Hari yang paling ditunggu-tunggu oleh sekelian murid (dan warga pendidik) kerana inilah masa yang boleh digunakan sebaik-baiknya untuk melepaskan penat setelah hampir 6 bulan bertungkus lumus memerah otak untuk menjawab peperiksaan, ujian dan berbagai-bagai latihan yang diberikan oleh guru. Cuti ini juga merupakan satu peluang keemasan bagi murid-murid terutamanya yang bakal menduduki UPSR untuk memantapkan lagi pemahaman terhadap pelajaran yang telah diajar dengan mengadakan ulangkaji. Berbagai-bagai kaedah dan juga cara dapat digunakan untuk mengulangkaji pelajaran diantaranya belajar secara kumpulan, menggunakan internet mahupun mengadakan latih tubi bagi matapelajaran-matapelajaran yang agak lemah. Oleh yang demikian pengelola blog ingin mengucapkan selamat bercuti dan jangan lupa membuat ulangkaji.

School Holidays!!

The moment we are waiting for and finally it is here. It is mid term school holidays. How fantastic it will be if we spend enough quality time to do some distinction activities. No doubt that it is time for us to enjoy ourselves, go for a vacation, traveling away from home for pleasure and avoid the hustle and bustle of a city life. But remember to bring along your best friend which is a book. A book to read along the journey no matter how far you will go. A book which will accompany you if your trip does not go as planned or a book which you can use to make new friends. And a book which will enlighten you by the end of the scary dark tunnel. It is awesome to learn new things by reading new book every now and then. So my advice is clear. No matter how far or how long the holiday is, you need not to forget to read and do your revision. And in case you are given any homework, make sure you finish it before the school reopens to avoid any unpleasant deed from your beloved teacher. So Happy Holiday from me to all SKBP's beloved sweet little angels. And by the way as a reminder in case some of you are absent minded, the school is going to reopen on 15th of June 2009. Enjoy...

Sambutan Hari Guru SKBP 2009

Kemeriahan sambutan Hari Guru Peringkat Sekolah masih lagi diteruskan pada hari ini. Beberapa aktiviti yang menarik telah diadakan untuk memeriahkan lagi acara sambutan pada kali ini. Diantaranya ialah ucapan dari pihak pentadbiran sekolah, bacaan ikrar para guru, nyanyian lagu Guru Malaysia, pertandingan bola sepak dan bola jaring antara guru dan murid serta penyampaian hadiah buat para guru. Selain itu juga diadakan jamuan untuk Hari Guru dan terima kasih kepada semua yang menjayakan aktiviti pada kali ini.

Pada sebelah petangnya pula apabila selesainya sambutan Hari Guru, guru-guru SKBP dengan penuh semangat walaupun keletihan berlawan bola pada sebelah paginya telah berjaya menghadirkan diri untuk sesi LDP (Latihan Dalam Perkhidmatan). Program ini telah berlangsung selama dua hari iaitu pada 27 dan 28 Mei 2009 (Rabu dan Khamis), bermula pada jam 2.30-5.30 petang. Penceramah pada kedua-dua hari tersebut adalah En. Zunisam B Elias dan En. Mohd. Saad Bin Ghazali. Masing-masing memperkatakan mengenai pengelolaan, pengurusan dan kepengadilan sukan (bola baling dan sukan olahraga). Mudah-mudahan apa yang disampaikan dapat dikongsi bersama dan memberi banyak manfaat serta ilmu yang berguna untuk masa hadapan.

This is the latest news which I received earlier. There has been an internal election among the teachers to choose and vote for "Tokoh Guru" of the year 2009. And quite surprising for the first time we have two winners which are:

• En. Saad Bin Ghazali
• Mr. Lee Keat Huat

Both of them really deserve the title because of their diligent and commitment to ensure all the school activities are done effectively throughout the year. Congratulations guys...

Mid Year Examination / Tips For English Paper 2.

All the best to pupils of SKBP. Today is the D-Day. The day you need to prove to yourself that you are the best. It is the battle of the brains. So here are some few tips which i think could help you during your exam.

For English Paper 2 these are some useful information you can apply when you sit for the paper.

Tips Of Answering Question 1 Paper 2.

• Read the instructions
• Study the picture stimulus and find out the location
• You must read all the words given in the boxes
• Make sure you understand and try to relate them to the situation in the picture
• Look out for the activities shown in the picture
• Try to find the object and its location
• You can also include attire in one of the sentences
• You are encouraged to use Simple Present Tense and Present Continuous Tense

Tips Of Answering Question 3 Paper 2.

• Read the instruction given
• Study each picture carefully
• Read all the words given and try to relate them to the story line
• Look for the characters in the story line
• Identify the verbs given. Justify whether you should use present or past tense to write your essay
• You should also master the use of infinitive 'to'
• Construct simple, compound and complex sentences in your story line to score good marks
• Be creative and think 'outside the box'
• Use suitable adjectives, adverbs, similes, proverbs and collective nouns to make your story interesting
• Use correct spelling and punctuation
• Handwriting should be legible, neat and clean

You are going to sit for the English Paper 1 and 2 on Thursday after recess. So don't take heavy breakfast as it might make your stomach upset. Don't take spicy food and within this week please take care of your health. Get enough sleep and study, study, study and study.

Perda/PUZ UPSR English Workshop

Yesterday was a Teacher's Day. So I would like to take this opportunity to wish all teachers out there Happy Teacher's Day. Hopefully it's not too late. Eventhough it was teacher's day celebration, some of the English teachers from SK Balik Pulau were willing to sacrifice their day off to accompany the year 6 pupils to take part in English UPSR workshop organized by PERDA and Pusat Urus Zakat. which is also known as PUZ. The event was held in Dewan Sri Pinang. As usual pupils were introduced to the correct ways and methods to answer English paper 1 and 2. Few pupils were unable to attend the workshop due to some unavoidable range of activities which they had planned days earlier. The event went smoothly and the pupils went home around 1.00 p.m accompanied by their parents. To all parents thank a lot on your support and cooperation. Without your help it is impossible for the pupils to be present for the workshop and by lending your hand you did make our task being a lot easier.

English UPSR Workshop

Finally the English Panel in collaboration with Unit Bimbingan dan Kaunseling got the opportunity to work together to organize this wonderful event. It is a very useful and effective way to introduce to the year 6 pupils on how to tackle the English UPSR questions for both papers, 1 and 2. A lot of tips and information were given by the invited lecturer which is Cikgu Nor from SK Sg. Pinang. She is an experience teacher and involved actively in marking the UPSR English Paper 2. For those who are present for the workshop this afternoon hopefully you will find it really interesting and are able to use all the tips and information given to help you answering the UPSR questions in the near future. What I can say about the workshop is that it is a perfect solution for those who have doubts in answering paper 2.

Pertandingan Keselamatan Jalanraya

Seramai 17 orang murid SK Balik Pulau dan 3 orang guru pengiring telah mengambil bahagian dalam pertandingan tersebut. Pertandingan ini telah dibahagikan kepada beberapa bahagian iaitu pertandingan berkomputer, berjalan kaki, menunggang basikal dan memandu kereta. Murid dan guru memulakan perjalanan seawal 8.30 pagi dan tiba di lokasi pertandingan pada jam 9.30 pagi. Pertandingan bermula pada jam 10.00 pagi. Walaupun tidak mendapat sebarang tempat dalam pertandingan ini, ianya merupakan satu pendedahan yang amat berguna untuk pasukan pelapis (darjah 4 dan 5). Atas jasa baik Cikgu Saad, pasukan ini dapat menikmati hidangan KFC sebagai juadah tengahari sebelum pulang ke sekolah. Sebagaimana biasa pasukan ini berjaya mendapat tempat pertama dalam kategori menghabiskan ayam KFC dalam kepantasan yang luar biasa :-)

Bengkel UPSR Sains

Bengkel teknik menjawab soalan Sains telah diadakan di dewan peperiksaan SK Balik Pulau. Bengkel ini telah dihadiri oleh semua murid tahun 6. Program bermula pada jam 2.00 petang dan berakhir pada jam 5.00 petang. Jamuan ringkas diadakan diakhir program untuk penceramah, guru-guru dan juga murid-murid.

Penceramah yang dijemput pada kali ini ialah Pn. Norazimah Bt Johari dari SK Bukit Gambir. Beliau merupakan seorang guru pakar dalam matapelajaran Sains. Kehadiran beliau amatlah menguntungkan pihak sekolah amnya dan murid-murid khususnya kerana terdapat banyak petua-petua dan cara serta teknik untuk menjawab soalan Sains.
